Levitation is a power that William gained in Seasons 3 and 4 while under X.A.N.A.'s control. It was also one of Aelita's powers in the DS game, Get Ready to Virtualize.
William
In Season 4, William usually levitates before jumping into the Digital Sea or when he activates a tower for X.A.N.A.. In Season 3, he only levitated once under X.A.N.A.'s control to destroy the Core of Lyoko. William doesn't use his levitating power when he is in a fight with the Lyoko Warriors, the reason for which is unknown.
In the silver-white suit, it requires his Zweihänder, and gives off an aura similar to Ulrich's Super Sprint, only purple. In the black suit, his sword helps aid in levitation, but it is not required. When he uses this power without his sword, he has a black aura similar to his Super Smoke. It's not known if this power was given to him as a result of XANA's possession.
Aelita
In the video game, Get Ready to Virtualize, levitation was Aelita's superpower; used as a replacement for her creativity that allowed her to cross chasms and gorges until her power gauge ran out.
