This thread is to commemorate the 107th anniversary of Grace Hopper's birthday. For those of you who don't know, Amazing Grace wrote one of the first compilers, designed COBOL, and remains one of the most influential computer scientists of all time.

Without people like her, the animation software used to Code Lyoko never would have been possible. The show itself wouldn't either. Moreso, if anyone on this wiki goes to a bank, sees air traffic control, or used a PC, you have been touched by her work in one way or another. I would like for the people of our wiki to pause for a second to appreciate her work.

Without her, no wiki would exist. The software for MediaWiki wouldn't have been possible. Google wouldn't have been possible. We owe a lot to her as a society.
